I aim to build a research group at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) that is diverse in both the disciplinary approaches and the identities and backgrounds of group members. The work in the group is primarily theoretical and computational, though we collaborate with experimentalists and other researchers with interesting datasets.
Prospective graduate students
I am hiring graduate students at both Master's and PhD levels. I can currently admit graduate students through the programs in Mechanical Engineering, Information and Computer Sciences, and Mathematics. I strongly encourage you to reach out to me early with your CV, an unofficial transcript, and a brief description of what your research interests are and why you want to work with me specifically.
Any prospective student is required to file a formal application to the graduate program with appropriate statements, recommendation letters, and exams. For admitted international students, UHM sponsors student and scholar visas.
Current graduate students
If you are a current graduate student in any program at UHM and are interested in working with me, please email me with your CV, unofficial transcript, and a brief description of your interest and the kind of opportunity you are looking for.
Undergraduate students
If you are a current undergraduate student at UHM and are interested in doing research in my group, please email me with your CV/resume and unofficial transcript.
Postdocs
There are currently no funded open postdoctoral positions in my group. If you are interested in applying for an external postdoctoral fellowship and would like me to serve as your faculty mentor, please email me with your CV and a brief description of your research accomplishments so far and goals for the future.
